Why should we take stock of mental hygiene?
Did you Know? Within Australia, half of us (adults) are at risk of developing a mental health condition within our lifetime (Betterhealthvic.gov.au, 2021). And our risk gets higher within Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities.
At Mindkshetra, we aim to influence adults to take up creative practices as well-being habits to safeguard their mental health.
As adults, one of the things we tend to get good at by the time we reach adulthood is to "Keep on Carrying on", especially if it involves something to do with our mental health. We tend to carry on life stressors like brushing off worries about something happening within our relationships or braving work pressure, or when keeping the smile pasted even though our hearts and head feel gloomy.
We tend to forget that these stressors can take a toll on our well-being over time. Expressive U is an eight-week creative self-discovery program that allows the grows up to take a step back and take stock of their mental hygiene by engaging with their child-like curiosity for imaginative play.
